FAQ

FAQ

Is your wax mixed with other types of wax?

Never! We only use 100% soy wax in our melts. You can tell when soy wax is used as it is prone to "frosting", which is the white powdery look on some melts (although this doesn't happen all the time). This is the natural process of the soy trying to return to its natural state.

How long does each melt last?

This is a tricky one as it depends on many factors, such as the type of burner, which tea-light candle you use, where your burner is placed in the home, etc, but as a general rule, each star should last for at least 8 hours.

I want to change the colour of a bar / I want a fragrance in a bar that you don't stock!

When will my order be dispatched?

I try my best to dispatch orders on the same working day if ordered before 10am, although this isn't guaranteed. As a rule of thumb, orders are dispatched the next working day. I use Royal Mail, but if you prefer another courier, let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate your requests.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on being as eco-friendly as possible at Star Scents. We send out orders in recyclable boxes using paper tape to seal them up. We also have a thermal postage label printer to cut down on ink. We package the melts up in glassine bags, which are biodegradable and recyclable, and we use shredded Kraft paper and corn starch packing peanuts. Any glitter used is always biodegradable, and the clamshells are made from recycled plastic and can be recycled again. Did you know our packing peanuts dissolve in water? Give it a try!

Are you CLP compliant?

We most certainly are. Those labels you see on the back of the melts? These are the CLP labels that wax melt makers MUST use - it's against the law not to! Stay away from vendors who do not have these labels on their products.

Do you have CPSRs?

We do! Every bath & body product made at Star Scents has the necessary testing and requirements needed to be able to sell them legally. Every product has been registered with the OPSS (Office for Product Safety and Standards), and we comply with all relevant regulations. We are also members of the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers.
